The Africa ClimAccelerator is suitable for innovative climate focused early-stage start-ups. Your business must have a viable business model and achieved proof of concept.
Yes, applications are open to all eligible applicants.
We are looking for innovations across a variety of sectors, that tackle a climate related problem and offer a climate tech solution. To make sure that your start-up matches well with our vision, you will need to address at least one of Climate-KIC’s Impact Goals
You can apply if your start-up is operating in Southern Africa, East Africa, West Africa, and North Africa
Start-ups must be registered or plan to register (by the end of the program) in any African country.
There is no financial cost but, an investment in time and commitment for the 6-month programme is required
Start-ups can receive up to €12.000(EURO) in grant funding. In addition to the grant, start-ups will receive training, mentorship, one on one support and investment readiness preparation.
The Africa ClimAccelerator is a 6-month long programme running from November 2021 to April 2022, targeting 15 innovative, climate focused early stage ventures in Africa
The working language for the Africa ClimAccelerator is English. Therefore, all communications, content and training will be done in the English language.
The accelerator programme inclusive of all workshops, one-on-one coaching, mentorship and pitches, will be run virtually (online).
